Description
This winter protein synthesis game will spice up your DNA unit! Using transcription and translation of DNA sequences, students compete to make cozy winter sentences!
Please note: This activity can also be found in my Biology UNIT 7: DNA & Protein Synthesis.
Students are divided into teams and given paper DNA sequences. After transcribing these sequences into mRNA, students look for the correct anticodon card to determine the protein “sentence” that will be made! Better yet- these sentences are just in time for winter!
Included in this resource:
- Teacher instructions and background information
- 20 unique DNA sequences
- 64 cards with anticodons on one side and winter words on the other
- Student worksheet
- Answer key
Just print the cards, cut them out, and you’re ready to go!
My students have always loved this interactive game, and I know yours will, too!
