Description
This serial dilutions lab gives your high school students dilution practice in a real lab setting! Students make a stock solution, calculate its molarity, then create a serial dilution to practice dilution calculations.
This lab is also part of my Full Chemistry Curriculum.
Included in this resource:
- Teacher instructions and materials list (see preview for necessary materials)
- Student lab instructions and comprehension questions
- Dilution practice problems
- Answer keys

*Students will need background in calculating molarity prior to completing this lab. If your students need a stronger foundation in molar conversions, you might be interested in my Unit 6- The Mole. This lab is also part of Unit 10- Solutions, which includes additional labs and activities, as well as slide presentations, practice pages, and assessments.
Topics:
- Calculating molarity of a solution from mass of a solute
- Solute v. solvent
- Dilution calculations (M1V1=M2V2)
