Have you ever tried to calculate your ecological footprint? This quick, no-prep lesson is a perfect Earth Day activity that will introduce your middle school or high school students to the concepts of sustainability and conservation. After using a website to calculate their ecological footprint, students use a creative drawing to illustrate ways to reduce their footprint.
Includes:
- One page of teacher instructions with ideas for introducing the lesson and external links for calculating student ecological footprints.
- One page of student instructions for reflecting on their personal ecological footprint and a template for creating a footprint bookmark to illustrate their reflections.
Note: This is an electronic download. No physical resources will be sent to you.
Students will need a device with access to the internet in order to use the “Calculate your Ecological Footprint” links.
